Why this build
This Reflex XL is one of our selected builds. Every so often we take a pistol we like, set it up the way we would carry it ourselves, and put a small number of them on the shelf. On a small 9mm, what matters most is keeping the muzzle flat and the grip locked in, so that is where the work went: chunk porting, our Defender frame package, and a texture matched to each finish. When one is on the shelf, it ships to your dealer in days instead of waiting in the build queue.
What we did to it
Chunk porting. We cut ports near the muzzle so gas vents upward and pushes the front of the gun down as it fires. In our testing it cut muzzle flip by up to 30 percent. Results vary with ammo.
Defender frame package. We recess the borders, reduce the grip, and blend the backstrap into the frame so it feels like one piece in your hand. Then we stipple it.
Texture. The Multicam Black gun has our Knock Out texture, our most aggressive pattern, for shooters who want all the grip they can get. The Multicam gun has our Brain texture, which gives you durable traction without being overly abrasive when you carry it concealed.
Finish. The frame is Multicam Cerakote, in Multicam Black or Multicam. The slide and barrel are Black Nitride, which is hard, slick, and holds up to holster wear.
Optic ready. It keeps FN's factory MRD cut, which fits Shield RMSc and Holosun 507K footprint optics. No plate needed. No optic included.

How buying works
Firearms ship only to a licensed dealer (FFL). At checkout, upload a copy of your dealer's license, or have them email it to sales@dangerclosearmament.com with your order number. Once we have it, we ship to them and send you tracking. You pick the gun up at the dealer and complete the transfer there. Local laws apply, so check yours before ordering.
Shipping
In stock guns ship within a few days of receiving your dealer's FFL. If a finish sells out, new builds are made to order and take about 8 weeks.
